About the Series
The concept for this original character began taking shape in 2000. By the time the first title was self‑published in 2006, Jacob Rico had emerged as a tough yet deeply troubled combat veteran. Orphaned by the brutal deaths of his parents, an angry young Jacob pushes forward with almost accidental success in everything he attempts.
After being dismissed from Army helicopter pilot training, Rico joins the Air Force and rises to become an elite Delta Force operator. In a dangerous combat theater, he fights alongside remarkable brothers and sisters in arms who befriend him despite his determination to remain a cynical loner. Through these relationships, Rico learns to love and to be loved, living what appears to be a charmed life.
Ultimately, those same relationships lead Jacob Rico to a personal encounter with God, where he surrenders his life. As a born‑again Christian, he is tested by equal measures of profound joy and deep suffering, challenging his understanding of the God of the Bible. Facing battles with evil in both the physical and spiritual realms, one question remains: how much can he endure?
